Week 8: Wellness

Since the late 1990s, psychologists began to explore the discipline of positive psychology, the scientific examination of wellness, flourishing and well-being. Whereas in the past, psychologists mostly focused on human suffering. Since the founding of positive psychology, more psychologists have conducted research on topics such as happiness, wisdom, creativity, curiosity, spirituality, hope, optimism, and related topics. Even more recently, psychologists have begun to understand that topics such as happiness and well-being are deeply influenced by cultural variables. For instance, what is associated with happiness in one culture may differ from what is associated with happiness in a different culture.

For this week, you will explore the influences of psychological well-being and examine wellness and the influences or terms of happiness. You also, submit your Module 3 Assessment, Consultant to New Nation: Psychological Well-Being and Psychological Distress Policy Recommendation.
