Theological topic (Sin, Salvation, Sanctification, Sovereignty, Service) for your Theological Research Paper. This must be a detailed outline of your Theological Research Paper. The outline should include at least three major section headings, subheadings, paragraph headings, and a bibliography with at least two sources beside the Bible.Each student will write a 7-page (12 point font, double spaced, page numbered) theological research paper that addresses one of the topics detailed within the Letter to the Romans (Sin, Salvation, Sanctification, Sovereignty, Service). You must refer to at least three sources other than the course textbook and the Bible. The purpose of this paper is for you to wrestle with and apply theology to your life. The first five pages of the paper are to define, explain, and defend your theological understanding of the chosen topic. Only the last two pages of the paper are to be written in the first person as a means of self-reflection (personal implications of the topic for you).
It is expected that students will write in a theological sound (orthodox) manner. The paper will involve applying biblical and traditional truth of the chosen topic (pages 1-5) in order to demonstrate a thoughtful response (way forward) related to your life (pages 6-7).
On the first week of class students should identify a topic (Sin, Salvation, Sanctification, Sovereignty, Service) and begin searching for theological sources that might help to explore the issue.
An outline for the paper is due at the mid-point of the class and the final paper is due at the end of the course. As mentioned above the outline should include a clear identification of major sections and minor sections within the paper. The outline is not written in paragraph form, but is merely headings that outline the argument that will be made in the paper. No late work will be accepted.
