TIMING

The final take home exam will rely on the honor code in that you will be asked to complete the exam on your own and write the exam during a 50 minute time slot of your choosing anytime between the time the final exam is up on mycourses (i.e. April 13th) and when it is due (i.e. April 17th by 4pm). It will be as if you are taking the final exam in class during our regular 50 minute time slot for class lectures.

GUIDELINES

I want to emphasize that this will be a take-home exam, not a research essay. You are not expected to do any additional readings beyond those included on the syllabus and available on mycourses, and the information from the lectures. The two questions I will post on mycourses on April 13th will mostly cover the material from the second half of the course (excluding the 2 weeks that we had to cancel due to the Corona-19 virus), but core concepts from the first half of the course will be relevant. You will need to demonstrate that you are capable of applying these concepts to the empirical cases covered in the course.

FORMATTING

Your responses must be type written, in 12-point font, double-spaced and with 1-inch margins. All pages (except the cover page) must be numbered. You must write your full name, student number and the name of your TA on the front page of your exam. You must make sure that you identify clearly the question to which you are responding. You must also make sure you also respect the page limit, which is 6 pages. Since you will have access to the course material, you will be expected to refer to the specific authors by name, although a formal citation is not required. You can simply either refer to the author’s name or put the last name of the author in parenthesis at the end of the citation. Make sure to avoid spelling and/or grammatical mistakes as your write your exam.
