1) Who is the person you will be writing about?
You should provide a brief summary of this person in terms of:
• Basic demographics (race, age, sex, relationship status, etc)
• Relevant developmental history
• Status at the time the book is written
2) Provide a diagnostic work up for the character using DSM-V Diagnostic Criteria.
• Please be sure to address how each criterion for the disorder (or disorders) is (or is not) met. If the text does not provide enough information to evaluate a particular criterion, please note the absence of specific examples for that criterion in your write-up.
• Some of the writers may have more than one disorder. If the author has multiple disorders, you should diagnose all that apply to her/him, but you can focus on the disorder that is most pronounced in answering the rest of the questions in the paper.
• Provide two functional/dysfunctional scores along with specific evidence that supports your scoring. Scores will be based on a 0-100 scale, 0 = complete lack of functioning, institutionalization; 50 = moderate functioning; 100 = extremely high functioning, no help needed.

3) Discuss the etiology of the disorder(s).
• Discuss the different possible causes (i.e., etiology) of the person’s disorder using at least 2 of the perspectives you have learned about in class.

4) Evaluate the text.
• Overall, how accurate a depiction do you believe the book provides?
• How has reading this biography affected you?
• How might this biography affect someone who has just been diagnosed with the same disorder?
• Would you recommend this book to a friend who had just been diagnosed with this disorder? Why or why not?
5) Write clearly, organize your paper, proofread and cite references in APA format. (10 points)
