Purpose: The aim of this paper is to review literature on a course relevant concept. The focus of the paper should be a communication issue. Use the information you have read to create groupings (refer to the text for suggested organizational patterns). You should find connections among the articles and have smooth transitions between the ideas. This is a literature review, NOT a series of abstracts stapled together. Your goal is to look for connections and/or contradictions in the literature and explain the “big picture” to the reader. If you fail to do this it will adversely affect your grade. A good introduction and conclusion will help tie the literature together. Read the literature reviews (introductions) to journal articles if you want a model to follow.
Format: Papers should be typed in 12 point Times New Roman or Garamond font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Papers should be 8 full pages (minimum) to 10 (maximum) pages of text. (Do not try to pass off 7 3/4 pages as 8 full pages.) You should have at least 10 scholarly references and they must be cited according to APA standards. But, you should be aware that meeting the minimum criteria is average and average work is C work! You may use the course textbooks, however they will not count as part of the required references. A title page should include your title, name, course, instructor’s name, and date, centered on the page. All papers must be submitted via Turnitin in our blackboard class.
