This Covid19 pandemic will be a part of history that is studied in medical schools and by doctors, by economists, in political science classrooms and by politicians for the next hundred years–maybe longer. Nothing like this has affected the modern world in such an all-encompassing manner. Certainly, there have been pandemics, but none have struck at the heart of modern civilization like this. Beyond public health, this pandemic will likely leave segments of the US and the world in financial circumstances that rival the great depression. For these reasons, I wanted the final exam to be a way for us to examine how all aspects of our lives have been affected. For each of the following 3 parts, use size-12 Times New Roman, double-spaced font. Each part should be a minimum of 1/2-page. Part 1– I want you to think about how this pandemic has affected “you” as a person, as a student, as a family member, as a worker, etc. Explain, in detail using 1st-person language, exactly how your life has been affected, what you have done to cope with the situation, and how you imagine your life may change going forward. Notice I have asked for “1st-person” language. This means that part one will be a ‘personal essay’ and using the “I” pronoun is perfectly acceptable. Part 2– I want you to research and identify one ‘conspiracy’ about any element/s of the pandemic. Compose a short explanation of the conspiracy, who/what is involved. Explain why ‘you’ believe it is a conspiracy and not based on actual facts (or, perhaps, on distorted facts), but instead on hyperbole, misinformation, etc. For part 2, you do not need an actual works cited ‘page’. Simply include a properly formatted work/s cited entry at the end of the short essay. Do remember to properly cite direct quotations and paraphrases in the text of the short essay. Part 3– For this third part, I want you to research how this pandemic may affect the 2020 election. I am being intentionally vague with the instructions for part 3 because I do not want to influence your writing. The same rules apply as in part 2, as they apply to documentation and citation of sources. This short essay should not include your opinion (bias). It should all be based on research. So, there you have it. Please, work hard on this. Submit all three parts as one single document, but title each of the three parts, so I know where each begins and ends. You do not need a heading for this assignment. Below is what I will be considering as I grade the final exam: Content / substance / adherence to the instructions MLA format Documentation / citation Grammar / punctuation / syntax EffortCov
