This Covid19 pandemic will be a part of history that is studied in medical schools and by doctors, by economists, in political science classrooms and by politicians for the next hundred years–maybe longer. Nothing like this has affected the modern world in such an all-encompassing manner. Certainly, there have been pandemics, but none have struck at the heart of modern civilization like this. Beyond public health, this pandemic will likely leave segments of the US and the world in financial circumstances that rival the great depression. For these reasons, I wanted the final exam to be a way for us to examine how all aspects of our lives have been affected. Part 1– I want you to think about how this pandemic has affected “you” as a person, as a student, as a family member, as a worker, etc. Explain, in detail using 1st-person language, exactly how your life has been affected, what you have done to cope with the situation, and how you imagine your life may change going forward. Explain why ‘you’ believe it is a conspiracy and not based on actual facts (or, perhaps, on distorted facts), but instead on hyperbole, misinformation, etc. For part 2, you do not need an actual works cited ‘page’.
