The evil Society
Up the mountain, I come
The school hours are over
And there will be no school the following day
I look exhausted because of trekking a long distance
The village boasts of beautiful things,
The rich men are flaunting their high-end vehicles
Ready to invade the best social places in the town
Flocked with beautiful girls
The vehicles’ engines are hooting ready to embark
On this extravagant but routinely journey
It is time for the rich to put to use their money
Money obtained through deceit and corruption
My stomach is producing some rattling sound
I am sure I owe it some debt
But just how am I to pay this debt
I must have a share of the rich men’s cash
And so I know that fat governor is not around
So stingy he is, he never shares his fortunes

With people if not his kin
He does not sympathize with us the less fortunate
This is the time to have a touch at his safe
The lock is no more, and its booming sound does not deter me
Out I leave full of the rich man’s misfortunes
Everything looks very quiet and so I know I have made it
My heart is throbbing, but I know
That I will trek no more
And I will never owe my stomach any more debt
I wish my parents were alive, but they are no more
Come and see; here I am with no one to defend me
I know being charged with robbery attracts severe sentencing
The jail will be my new home
Inmates cannot stop sympathizing with me
Back at home those plundering our money laugh and flaunt beautiful ladies
I wonder why they are not part of us here.

Lamenting Pregnant Housefly
Out they come ready to devour us using the crudest of their

Weapons-their limbs but forget that they cannot fly
Why would they wait to fight us only when we are asleep?
Why do they cry when they die?
Empathy is not their value
We feed on their waste products but
They don’t care
Without us, their wastes would be everywhere
Why kill someone whose lifespan is
By far lesser than yours?
Why fight with your servant
So slowly they are coming to their senses
I am dying in the next three days
My kids are all over this place
Why kill me before my short span is over
You are against the principle of being human
Inhumanity is what you thrive in
I also feel pain when I die
Just like you mourn and sob
When you lose your husband
But I am stronger than you remember
Think of cholera; it devours you

But you kill me because you have your deadly weapon

Yet you still kill me when I want to have a taste of your food
I work as hard as my husband
You lazy woman, depending on the husband
I want to become your friend by being your role model
But I hate being killed before it is my last day

The Killer Jungle
Faster I walk through the jungle with my breath held
Aware of the danger that lucks in
The thick forest is infested with hungry
Lions ready to kill the prey for food
The yesterday’s news is dawning on
Me that one person had been attacked by the
Lion of the jungle and so I know that
It is my time for the dry leaves are rattling
And soon the lions will start roaring
The forest is ready to receive another blood
The jungle looks innocent but sucks blood from
The lion’s prey because they are in a collaboration
My heart begins to beat even harder but the deceptive
Jungle is consoling me that everything is okay
But I know it is preparing me for his partner.
