ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING: Design Waveform Inverters using an Oscillator
Description
Design a sine-wave inverter which produces a sine-wave waveform which is inverted after 2, 4 and 8 cycles. 1. Introduction 2. Design Concept and block diagram 3. Critical System Block diagram and explanation of each functional block. 6. Conclusion 7. References The period of the sinewave must be approx. 1ms. The output level should be variable up to a maximum of 2V peak with no DC component present. Output Resistance: Less than 60 Ohms. This entire unit should only use normal laboratory supplies. Steps Develop a block diagram showing the processes involved and the type of circuits required. For example, Oscillator -> Inverter -> so on. You need to consider critical issues in connecting up building blocks, for example, impedance matching and voltage levels. Make 2 different initial design solutions with a test specification. Use a circuit simulator to test the circuit. Computer simulation is important to make sure there are no faults in the design. Design may need modifications after simulation proves necessary. Calculate the specific component values, voltage and current levels. Design two prototype circuits with the requirements above, working circuits with a short description of how the circuit works and each component. Describe the theoretical design with solutions from the test. Equipment to use: Zero crossing detector? Counter? Inverter? 555 Timer, TL081 op amp, TL082 op amp, DG211 switches, 1N4148 Diode
