Economic Initiative Assignment | Online Homework Help

Description

The senior management members have sent you their thanks and notes on your feasibility study for your proposed economic initiative. They have determined that your proposal has the potential to benefit the organization in both the short and long term. The last step in this process is to complete a thorough implementation plan for your proposed initiative. This plan will need to include a budget of relevant expected material, staffing, and capital costs over the first five years of the initiative (see the Resources for some examples and guides about budget planning), as well as projected earnings from the initiative for the care setting. You must also include a plan and timeline for rolling the initiative out, an analysis of how it may impact other aspects of the care setting, an explanation how it can remain viable in the face of environmental changes, and sufficient relevant supporting evidence. Instructions In your 6–10 page plan, you have been asked to be sure to address the following. Note: The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide. Proposed Economic Initiative

The healthcare company that I work in has, over the years, been at the forefront, to improve the health care quality, especially for the services they offer to the community. Healthcare services in an organization are essential to ensure that patients receive the best treatment possible. It is the policy of the organization to ensure that healthcare services are maintained at high levels for all people. The organization attains its commitment and objective through the provision of comprehensive as well as holistic healthcare services that entail the elimination of diseases. It also ensures that the care offers preventive services to all patients. Nevertheless, the company has recently been experiencing increased expenditures at the hospital, especially the expenditures to cater to healthcare services. This included the treatment of chronic diseases as a result of the high rising population of patients who suffer from t6he chronic illnesses. Consequently, this has led to increased congestion incidences in the hospital setting. Further, there have been issues with shortages of nurses as well as the healthcare workers experiences frequent burnout. As a result, the management has been compelled to employ more healthcare workers, which translates to increased spending by the organization. Besides, the situation has led to an influence on the care quality, which ultimately contributes to errors in medication prescriptions that appear very costly to the organization regarding the negligence penalties and lawsuits, especially from the center of medical services. This is primarily due to the poor satisfaction as presented by the patients in the ratings they leave behind. Therefore, establishing a chronic preventive service department in the organization translates to a key step in an attempt to mitigate the identified challenge.

A clinical preventive service department is specialized in the prevention services, including the screening of disease, counseling, medical tests and procedures, immunizations, and health education (Kurt et al., 2018). Contrary to the current situation in the company, especially where the services are provided at the time of the process of treating a patient, alongside the services of healthcare, the clinical preventive services department will operate independently. Therefore, the department will be in a position of admitting patients who visit the hospital, particularly for the services of preventing illnesses. Further, the initiative will provide that there occurs detailed coverage of all the identified services within the hospital setting. The clinical preventive services department will be equipped with advanced screening equipment as well as having practitioners who are specialized in offering preventive services. There are numerous advantages that the initiative will provide and which will form the primary goal of establishing it. This includes the promotion of healthcare, especially in regard to impacting the behaviors of health, which will, as a result, cut down the chronic illnesses’ cases that are reported and also treated in the facility. This will serve to save the cost of treating the patients.

The screening process and the services of immunization offered by the initiative will serve in promoting early detection of any chronic illness. Diagnosis carried out early enough forms a significant aspect in successful treatment, which thus eliminates the cost linked with adverse treatment of any outcomes and also caring for the chronic disease (Brown et al., 2015).

The healthcare organization that I work with usually serves a massive population in society, which is found to have elderly persons as the highest population. The threat of chronic is established to increase as we move up the age ladder, and therefore this comprises a very prevalent issue in the community. Studies demonstrate that preventive services, including immunization, screening, as well as health education, are essential in cutting down the risk of chronic illnesses with over 70percent. Nevertheless, in the particular community, the given services in screening are provided by the clinics of the community. These clinics have the characterizes of shortages with staff members in the organization, lack of adequate facilities, and also prevalent congestion in the hospital. My organization is also found to offer services that are perceived as part of the process of treating patients, and therefore happening in a very limited scope. The establishment of the clinic preventive services department will serve sin specializing entirely on the preventive services.

The company is identified as seeking an initiative that will ultimately cut down the costs incurred in healthcare. It will also look for an initiative that promotes the quality of care as well as ensuring timeliness of operations within the hospital setting. Clinical preventive services, including scheduled immunization as well as routine disease screening, are crucial to the reduction of disability and death and enhancing the health of a nation. The above services usually prevent and also detect diseases ranging from cancer to flu, especially in their initial and more treatable phases., which contributes to a significant reduction of the risks of disability, illnesses, medical care costs, and early death.

Analysis of Supply and Demand for the Proposed Economic Initiative

The clinical preventive services have considerable health impact as they provide tremendous opportunities that serve in saving years of life and also helping individuals to live better lives throughout their lives. The clinical preventive services will serve in the reduction of disability, death, and diseases such as certain cancers, mental health issues, vision disorders, and chronic disease. Generally, preventive care serves in the reduction of disease prevalence and assist individuals in leading a longer and healthier life (Chait & Glied, 2018). Some of the cost-saving preventive services include counseling adults and childhood immunizations. The preventive care allows for cost savings on reducing risk aspects, costs of screening, and the treatment cost. The prevention has the potential of reducing the incidence of disease.

      Relevant Economic and Environmental Data

According to the Centre for Disease and Control, chronic illnesses that are considered avoidable via the preventive care services usually account for 75% of the healthcare suspending of the nation (Centre for Disease and Cinbtrol, 2013). The preventive care assists in lowering costs through the prevention of disease before they call for emergency room care. The preventive care can cut across areas such as maternity and newborn care as it is cheaper to offer good nutrition and drug or alcohol counseling for the mothers than treating the premature births as well as treating fetal alcohol syndrome. Clinic preventive services program also focuses on mental and behavioral health treatment as when such a population is left untreated will lead to burdening of the society. The program will also ensure that there are services and devices that ultimately help individuals with disabilities, injuries, or chronic diseases. Generally, the clinic preventive unitive is a crucial program that benefits both the patient and the hospital as it avoids stretch of resources. The initiative also helps in lowering costs to some significant extent and helps in improving the costs of the organization. Preventive care is a good plan that the community really requires to overcome the illnesses.
