Sick Days discussion questions

1) In Sheila Heti’s piece what does she seem to be suggesting in the
opening paragraph? In the second and third paragraphs she gives
us her reasoning behind her suggestion. Why does she
recommend being sick in bed?
2) Does the author offer readers any images in the essay, to keep
things from becoming too abstract? What image(s) stood out to
you?
3) Is the piece well-organized, in your opinion? Is it difficult to
follow? Does it feel fragmented, as if the author is jumping all
over?
4) Do you agree that, on occasion, you should allow yourself to be at
rest, to check out, even if you could possibly push yourself to be
productive? Or do you find yourself disagreeing with the author?
Does she come off as indulgent, even lazy?
5) Is unproductivity natural?
