Structure of the Critical Thinking Assignment

In this critical thinking assignment, you are required to address following three questions with sub questions:

1)      The first part of the question asks you to discuss the following two issues:

1. Discuss the benefit of dependence on large number of expatriate workers.

Comment: Make sure you cite the textbook in this section by discussing how cheap imported labor can promote economic growth, according to the textbook. Also, make sure you cite statistics related to immigrants and their contribution to Saudi Economy.

1. Discuss the risk associated with dependence on large number of expatriate workers.

Comment: Make sure you cite the textbook in this section by discussing the how cheap imported labor can harm local population (by raising unemployment rate and creating social and economic unrest by increasing income inequality), according to the textbook.

You must answer both parts of question 1 to satisfy the requirement.

Should Saudi Arabia seek to include or exclude labor mobility in future regional free trade agreements? Why or why not?

Comment: Finding textbook related material that discusses the integration of labor mobility and trade agreements can be difficult. However, I have uploaded several papers that discuss this very issue. Please read those or find more peer-reviewed journal articles related to this.

1. The third part of the question ask you to analyze the following critical issue:

What implications does the Saudi Vision 2030 have on labor mobility?

Comment: Saudization is an integral part of the Saudi Vision 2030, although the process started before Vision 2030. Vision 2030 has integrated the Saudization with the overall growth prospect for the Saudi Economy. Analyze these issues. You can also use the articles that I uploaded along with your chosen set of peer-reviewed journal articles to discuss this question.

4. Knowledge of the discussion and implication of immigration policy (Saudization included) in the Saudi Vision 2030.
