Tata Motors Conflict of Culture and Strategy Paper Assignment: The Synergy or Conflict of Culture and Strategy
6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5
“Culture eats strategy for lunch.” This is a pithy expression of the importance of the way that an organization’s culture will influence the people and departments within that organization. It is more efficient to have a company where the aspirations and strategy are part of the day-to-day operations (for instance, people following through with requested tasks at all levels of employee) versus a company that must dictate these small but vital strategic initiatives to employees through memos, rules, and other types of corporate policy. The expression of that policy has to be in sync with the culture, or it has the potential to create problems within the work environments.
