EDU 7120 Ashford University Week 5 Higher Education Paper WK 5
Reflection Paper
Ooro (2013), based on her own experiences, reflects on the impact of the changes in the system of higher education on faculty and staff and concludes that a new academic professional is emerging as the result of changes. She contends that the new academic professional will be the one to survive as higher education transforms. Write a 3-5 page paper in APA format that analyzes the Ooro (2013) article as a case example of one aspect of systemic change in higher education. What are the forces that are shaping education and educational systems? Identify the components of the higher education system and how the system is responding to the issues impacting higher education, including the challenges, opportunities, and threats facing educational systems. Offer strategies for addressing these challenges, opportunities, and threats.
How, in your own experience, are the changes in the system impacting faculty and staff? Do you concur with Ooro’s view? Why or why not? How does your view differ? Present your own picture of the new higher education professional who will be responsive to the systemic changes occurring today.
