Glendale Community College Brain Structure and Nerve Cell Diagram It doesn’t matter if you are an artist or not – just try your best and follow these instructions:
Take 2 separate 8.5”x 11” pieces of paper
On the 1st sheet draw a diagram of the brain
Label/name 6 major structures/areas that you find interesting
Demonstrate understanding of what each major area is responsible for by drawing pictures of its function.
For example, if the area you choose regulates hunger, you might draw someone eating a hamburger. Do not write out what the area does – draw it! So, each area will have only a label and a picture.
On the 2nd sheet draw a picture of a nerve cell (aka neuron)
Label each major part and indicate you understand the process of how neurons send messages to each other.
Be sure you show the direction of the signal using arrows.
Tips:
Your pictures must be neat, drawn by hand, and creatively drawn in color.
Do not draw on lined notebook paper!
The drawing may not include any pre-printed pictures or typed text.
