Part 1: For this assignment, you’ll create a visual presentation about one of the departments that makes up the cabinet.

First, choose one of the cabinet departments discussed in this section.

Then, decide what type of presentation you’ll make. By visual presentation, this means you can make a “poster” (using software such as Publisher), a webpage (you can either create and post one, or submit the html document and associated images), or a PowerPoint or OpenOffice presentation.

Research the department, making sure to include the following:

date the department was created
agencies that make up the department
person who is the current head of that department and his/her biography
the roles of the agencies
the role of the department in general

Create your presentation, making sure to include a source list of at least three research sources, and submit it to your instructor for grading.

Part 2: Answer these following questions and follow the directions given.

In a well-written essay of at least two paragraphs, describe the provisions of the 22nd Amendment. Also, describe the advantages and disadvantages you see in the provisions of this amendment.
There are fifteen executive departments of the federal government. Choose any two of the departments and in a minimum of two paragraphs, discuss their areas of responsibility, and also your opinion as to the issue, which is, or should be, the major focus of each department today. Be sure to support your opinion with facts and ideas.
Imagine that the United States wants to honor a president by adding a face in the vicinity of Mount Rushmore. Based upon your understanding of individual service, accomplishments, and the success of the presidency, explain in a minimum of two well-written paragraphs, whose face should be added to the mountain?
