North Carolina State University Chapter 20 Reducing Readmissions Report 1. Discussion Board:

Consider the six aims of quality set forth by the Institute of Medicine (2001) (care that is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient centered), and apply them to the issue of reducing readmissions. For example, for equitable care, how does reducing readmissions affect care across all race and ethnicity groups? How do care interventions to reduce readmissions vary for different patient groups? Identify two or three issues for each aim.

Date Heartbreak is the creator of a new beginning.
Heartbreak makes life frozen or stuck in a black hole.
Arguably, the greatest thing in the whole universe is love. When you see the person who
completes the whole, you feel love. You trust someone wholeheartedly and offer something
valuable; your heart. Every time you hear Beach Boy’s “God Only Knows” song, you remember
them. The touch from your soulmate brings your goosebumps, and the smell of your lover brings
nostalgia, and the way the person you love makes you feel, is intoxicating.
You never appreciate ‘love’ until the two words ‘it’s over,’ completely turns everything turns
upside down. You get heartbroken! Nothing can make someone feel better, not even alcohol can
calm the desires of your heart.
Heartbreak brings vulnerability. You listen to the most depressing songs ever, cursing yourself
all day, cry all night, or wish you were swimming at Kali River when ‘Goonch’ arrived.
Everything stops, and the whole life seems frozen. This feeling can create differing definitions of
‘heartbreak.’
Hollenbeck 2
“Great sorrow, grief, or anguish” is the definition the dictionary provides. The urban dictionary
explains heartbreak as the condition people suffer when they ‘get dumped’ by their true love.
Nevertheless, my five-year-old brother has his version of what heartbreak is. He calls it ‘a
situation when someone makes you sad.’ I don’t disagree with any of these, but I think
heartbreak is a great deal, probably more than this.
Heartbreaks terrorizes our bodies and minds and evokes great sadness. ‘The sacredness of tears
speak eloquently over ten thousand tongues with power, and not a mark of weakness.’ these were
words of Irvin Washington showing that heartbreak exposes unspeakable love, and tears
represent valuable things lost and overwhelming grief. No wonder the deal comes with many biproducts like; regret, despair, embarrassment, and shame.
‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ by Chbosky makes heartbreak one of the major themes in the
book. The main character is struggling with the maintenance of responsibilities, self-esteem, selfworth, and even senses. Ugh, ‘heartbreak is heartbreak!’ Which made me think…to appreciate
love, you must know what heartbreak is first. . Heartbreak will knock out even the breathless,
and expose the most protected. Heartbreak makes people’s minds vulnerable to giving up, to
weakness, to death. To me, heartbreak is a big deal. It means to be in pain, to feel hopeless and
broken. Everyone has experienced heartbreak, and your mind is what the ‘monster of heartbreak’
manipulates most. In all forms and sizes, heartbreaks are associated with what matters most to
us. My seven-year-old brother gets heartbroken for missing out on Lego Marvel Superheroes 2
on the TV, My grandmother felt heartbreak after her dog died, I experienced heartbreak when I
felt like I lost my soulmate.
I have been blessed with a fortunate life, but I hate seeing people get dumped because I know
there is nothing that can take that pain away. When people get hurt, they never want to get hurt
Hollenbeck 3
again so they avoid relationships… or close themselves outside the world of love. In work and in
school, they feel buried and never want to open up again to people. Heartbreak and love are on
opposite sides of the same pole, and we often try to time how long it takes to get from one side to
the other, but thats impossible.
A year ago, I thought I was in the best relationship of my life. Then one day, my family told me
how much weight I lost, and how unhappy I seemed, and pointed out to me how I stopped
participating in family gatherings that I started to come to a different conclusion about how
happy I was. I asked my partner at the time if they felt the same way, and they sadly agreed. We
went our separate ways and I was heartbroken. I didn’t eat ,sleep, or get out of my bed for weeks.
I was a mess! And I felt as if the overwhelming feeling of sadness I felt would never go
away. Until I rolled out of bed one day and felt like a snake, who’s skin was
shedding. Something inside of me told me to wake up, and to begin to live life again. This
heartbreak I went through, forced me to become a new, better version of myself. There is no
secret recipe for curing heartbreak, theres no certain amount of time you’re supposed to spend
“getting over” a loss. Everything happens for a reason, even if it brings pain. Because pain forces
us to look within and get stronger. And thats what heartbreak is. It is pain that helps you reinvent
yourself.
