Explain how you could incorporate parts of the framework for pathophysiology in patient charting (Chapter 1).
Give an example of how the body adapts to stress (Chapter 2).
Explain the mechanism of cell injury and give an example (Chapter 4).
Using the website cancer.net, pick a type of cancer and summarize the latest research about that cancer, using terms from Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 7 and the website.
In all responses, be sure to paraphrase in your own words and cite your supporting sources in APA format. Supporting resources can be your textbook or another scholarly source. Your textbook is provided below as a reference and citation sample.

Explain the mechanism of cell injury and give an example
Cell injury takes place as a result of sequence of events and if the limits of adaptive capability of a cell exceeds. There are two types of cell injury such as reversibleand irreversible. Mechanisms of cell injury are due to different factors such as:
ATP depletion of cell
Mitochondrial membrane damage
Loss of calcium (Ca2+) homeostasis and influx of the intracellular calcium
Accumulation of the oxygen derived free radical
Membrane permeability defects
Examples of cell injuries are due to ischemia, hypoxia, infectious agents, and harmful chemicals. In reversible cell injuries, the cell is able to recover to homeostasis. In irreversible cell injury, the cell cant go back to homeostasis due to the severity of the injury where cell death occurs which leads to necrosis of tissue.

1. Explain how you incorporate parts of the framework for pathophysiology in patient charting (Chapter 1).
I currently work as a case manager in a home health agency and part of my job is to review that chart of our patients to know their condition and what type of service should be provided. Also, it is our responsibility to communicate with their physician to make sure that they are aware that the patient is receiving home health services and to follow such treatment and orders. On the other hand, once the nurse has opened the case they will report to us and will evaluate what kind of treatment should be implemented. Treatment implication is necessary for charting because according to the textbook, “understanding the etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical consequences of a particular disorder/disease/illness may determine which treatments could be helpful” (37). An example that is provided in the textbook is understanding that an individual with “septic shock” has excessive dilation of blood vessels that contribute to hypotension implies that fluid administration would likely be helpful. In contrast, most patients with “cardiogenic shock” have fluid overload, and hypotension, in this case, is unlikely to improve with fluid administration (37). In this case, understanding the etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical consequences of certain illnesses or disorders may imply that specific treatment is helpful. By following these frameworks carefully, medical professionals are more likely to be successful with their given treatment and teaching.
