Purdue University Sitting Meditation Essay Journal Exercise
The purpose of this Journal is to develop self-awareness of stress reactions on an individual basis. Please note that the exercise is part of the Unit 9 Final Project: Designing a Stress Management and Prevention Program.
Directions: Your Journal should be at least two full double-spaced pages in length, using size 12-point font in Word format. Be sure your paper is well written in paragraph form, with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. You may use external sources in addition to the required unit Readings. Cite any external sources used.
Go to Course Documents and download the file “HW410_U7_Journal.doc” [Word document] to your computer. Complete it using Word. Save it to a location on your computer you will remember (perhaps a folder titled HW410 Docs).
Choose from either formal practice: Sitting Meditation or Mindful Lying Yoga. Directions are found in Chapter six of the Mindfulness workbook. Upon completion of either practice, describe your formal practice and take a moment to reflect on whatever came up for you mentally, emotionally, and physically and explain.
