ACCT 30 – Group Assignment

Students will complete a year over year analysis of a publicly traded company and asses which year was strong.

• Your instructor has already formed your group and a separate document identifying groups has been uploaded in your LMS.
• You have to find a publicly available financial statements of publicly listed corporations for your analysis.
• All the work should be the original work of the students. Submission of already published report or plagiarized work will be marked zero.
• Late reports will not be accepted, and it will be mark zero.
• Only one person from each group will upload their group assignment in the LMS.

Spreadsheet Analysis Guidelines (10%)

• Two recent years financial statements should be compared
• Prepare financial statements analysis in different format (Horizontal and Vertical) – Spreadsheet
• Use various financial ratios to assess financial performance from perspective of – Spreadsheet
  1. Common shareholder
  2. Short-term creditor

• Long term creditor

• Refer to attached spreadsheet on sample analysis.

Report Narrative Guidelines (10%)

• Prepare written narrative to advise which year was strong and why – Word
• Report should be in APA format
• Report is to be around 1500-2000 words (between 6-8 pages including cover page and references).
• Cover pages must contain group members names and ID numbers, name of the company, years covered and class/group number.
• Point size required is 14pt., with double spaced paragraphs.
• Font suggestion is Arial.
• Refer to attached document for Sample Narrative.

PowerPoint Presentation (5%)

• A PowerPoint presentation should be prepared comprising of 7-10 slides.
• There will be no formal presentation here, but PPT slides should be prepared in a way to be able to present it within 10-15 minutes.
• Refer to attached sample ppt for reference.

Your final project should be submitted by before 11:59 PM, April 8, 2022.
