Introduction to Sociology: Social Interaction Assignment (essay)

This video will be the one you will describe, and then analyze from a symbolic interactionist perspective using your choice of concept(s). Note: the same video clip can be analyzed quite differently depending on what each student brings to the analysis. There is no one correct way of analyzing any movie scene/social interaction. Choose 1 or 2 concepts (it’s up to you to decide if you want to use 1 or 2 concepts for your assignment but you cannot use more than two) from the following list; status, role, role performance, impression management, front stage and back stage (these count as one concept), face-work (losing face, saving face and maintaining face are all types of facework and so they don’t count as separate concepts)
