The aim of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to show your ability to report on a Labor
Relations topic of your choice. In doing so you will show your ability to construct a multi-media
document, suitable for presentation to senior management or to be used as a reference for the topic
you have chosen or to be used as an official company document.
This is a combined individual and group project. NOTE: there are two parts to this assignment – first the
individual part and second the group part. To gain full marks you will have to ensure that you pay equal
attention to both.
First step is to form a group of no more than 3 people.
The second step is to choose a topic – it is important that you select a topic that each member of the
group can take a sub-topic and develop an individual project from it. Each group member is responsible
for developing their own individual part. They will be graded accordingly. Please go to the ILO website
for the list of topics
Once this is decided then each person is to choose a sub-topic and develop their own chapter or part.
While it is important you are working as an individual you must develop a consistency between each
part of the topic. That is every part (individual assignment) is the same format and style of the previous
and next chapter. Just like in a book.
The group component involves developing a process so that the final submission has the appearance of
a professional document, for example, a HR Policy manual. That is – a title page, table of contents, an
introduction or abstract that introduces the topic and a conclusion that summarizes the project. Each
individual chapter or project will form part of the final book (group report)
It is important that you set up the templates for both the individual and group parts of the project very
early in the semester. Please refer to the assignment guidelines contained in this folder.

The presentation of your work
As part of the group work and for the final presentation you are to create an e-portfolio. There are links
to information of how to do this on BB. It is preferred that you use either Google-sites or Wix. Once you
have compiled the information about your topic then you select the information you wish to present
electronically.
