ENG 100 University of Phoenix Reasons to Attend College Reflective Journal Last week, you began your practice of journaling as a way to become more comfortable with putting your thoughts and words on paper. You may have found that practice difficult, or you might have discovered that writing isnt really that scary.
Each week, you will have the opportunity to take some time for yourself and write about whatever is on your mind. As a reminder, you can type your journal entries or you can hand write them; the choice is yours. The most important thing is to write 1 to 1 ½ pages for your journal entry.
The instructions for the assignment this week are the same as last week. Just write! The goal is to get more comfortable with the idea and practice of writing.
Please use the following as the topic:
List the reasons you chose to attend college.
To complete and submit this assignment, follow these instructions:
Write 1 to 1 ½ pages in your journal. Once you complete your journal entry, write a summary sentence or phrase that captures your writing experience or your topic.
I have attached the previous week paper for a reference. Running head: DREAM JOB

Dream Job
Most people have dream jobs that they strive to achieve. I look forward to having a job
that can sustain my personal needs and one that I glad to do every day. I have always aspired to
be a police officer in Illinois or Dallas. My dream is attainable, and I would be satisfied if I
achieved it. I understand that a police officer is a government worker whose duties include
patrolling neighborhoods, controlling traffic, responding to alarms and emergency calls,
detaining offenders, among others. Primarily, I am aware that as a police officer, I would be
required to maintain safety in the neighborhoods, ensure there is public order and, detecting,
preventing, and investigating unlawful acts. I aspire to be a police officer because, since my
childhood, I have always wanted to make the world a better place to live by maintaining security
and help the community at large. Police duties and responsibilities are in line with my interests;
thus, this job can gratify my professional endeavor.
I find the police officers role interesting. The job is never a routine. I understand as a
police officer, I must learn how to deal with unexpected ordeals. From my observations, I have
realized that police officers have to keep updated on the rapidly evolving crimes. That is what I
find interesting because I hate monotony. Working as a police officer can give me the chance to
save lives every day. I would not mind putting my life in danger for the greater good. Working as
a police officer would give me a chance to clear the image of security agents in society. I would
love to counter peoples wrong perspectives about the police by being a non-corrupt officer. I am
confident that my job as a police officer can impact my life positively because I will be doing
what I love the most. Challenges and obstacles in life are my friends-in-arm to help me become a
better solution finder. My perspective can help me counter the risks and challenges associated
with a police officer role. I am positive my passion for being a police officer is my call.
