Both Social Learning Theory (Akers) and General Strain Theory were responses to perceived deficiencies in Differential Association Theory and traditional Strain Theories respectively. Which revision was more successful?  Please clearly state the criteria on which you are basing your analysis.  You then need to compare the two theories on those criteria providing supportive evidence for your argument. The essay will be evaluated in terms of 1) your knowledge of all four theories (the two which social learning and general strain theory responded to and of course social learning and general strain theory) and the research on them (60%), your ability use the criteria in evaluating the two theories (25%), and your essay being well organized and  free of editorial issues such as spelling and grammar (15%).
