1. The portfolio will contain at least five artifacts (anything that helped you learn more about teaching)…can be chosen from the topics listed above.

   3. For Reading S, be sure to look at page 228, the top. It will give you some ideas for organizing your portfolio—your portfolio must include a Letter of Introduction (first bullet on 238); A table of Contents (second bullet on 228); a self –reflection on each artifact (last bullet on 228). Here are some possible prompts for the reflection. You must use at least two:

• What I learned from the artifact
• How I will use the artifact or what I learned in the future
• What learning theories did the artifact demonstrate?
• What else do I need to know about using the artifact?
• How does this artifact change my philosophy of teaching?

1. Write a Final reflection which examines the entire process of creating a portfolio; it must include the following:

1. An examination of how the thinking in this “mini-portfolio” assignment differs from the thinking done in completing a quiz or traditional test. You may refer to Reading S which will help with this (page 221).
2. A discussion of what the most challenging aspect of this assignment was.
3. Discusses how each (Reading R and Reading S) influenced you in doing this assignment or influenced your vision of how to use portfolios. This reflection must be double-spaced, 12 font.

1. Bonus points: A portfolio has the potential for a person to examine their strengths and weaknesses, and this will enable one to create an action plan or action matrix for improvement. You are to go to the library and take out the following book which is on reserve: Guide to Transforming Teaching Through Self-Inquiry. Read pages 144-147 and create an action plan or action matrix derived from your portfolio. This will be worth up to ten extra points.
