The attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 were a national tragedy and an historic event that shaped the nation and the world for years thereafter. September 11 is also one of those days that is etched in the memories of everyone who was alive at the time. For many, this event is both historical and deeply personal.
