Help me study for my History class. Im stuck and dont understand.
Carefully read over other presentations as they come in and then add a healthy and enlightening Response to 1 other presentation. To avoid a few topics being overrun with Responses, I will only allow 1 person to comment on an Original Response. It is perfectly acceptable for the author of the Original Presentation to respond so that a conversation is created, but it will only be between the Original Presentation author and the first person to offer a Response. This will avoid some Presentations not having any comments and others have far too many.
Simply stated, this is NOT like a Facebook Post or a typical Discussion Board Thread where EVERYONE discusses and comments on numerous topics, just CHOOSE ONE. ALSO, TO AVOID EVEN MORE CONFUSION (LIKE THATS POSSIBLE) WHEN YOU HAVE READ A PRESENTATION THAT YOU LIKE AND WANT TO RESPOND TO, SIMPLY RESPOND RIGHT AWAY WITH THIS PHRASE: TAKEN! THIS WILL SECURE THAT PRESENTATION FOR YOU AND GIVE YOU TIME TO RESPOND IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER WITHOUT FEAR OF SOMEONE ELSE STEALING YOUR RESPONSE TOPIC. THEREFORE, YOU WILL TECHNICALLY RESPOND TWICE TO SOMEONES POST; THE FIRST TIME CLAIMING IT AND THEN YOUR ACTUAL RESPONSE.
Again, the more thought and time you put in to your comments, the better you will do. Wow, what a great presentation. I did not know that Ferdinand Porsche was a Nazi! Are you sure about all of these facts? You must be though, as I am reading it on the INTERNET! These are examples of VERY poor responses to Original Presentations. A proper response will ADD to the knowledge already presented and more importantly it will link the topic at hand to something you have learned in class, to a major historical theme we have discussed all semester, or something in the present day. To be blunt, this is your big chance to show me you are thinking historically! A healthy response will be 1-2 paragraphs (150-250 words).
This is the Presentation below
The civil war in China was long and intermittently lasted from 1927 to 1950, remaining in history the longest military conflict of the 20th century. China, torn apart by the civil war, became the subject of a military expansion of Japan, which rather easily seized vast territories of the country. Japanese aggression for a time forced the communists and nationalists to join forces against the common enemy. Although for the most part these efforts were recorded only on paper, in fact, the parties continued to openly quarrel among themselves. After the end of the Second World War, in which Japan suffered a crushing defeat, the civil war in the Middle Kingdom broke out with a new force. The topic is very interesting for me and I would like to know more about it from a factual point of view and to tell my audience more about it
The civil war in China was one of the longest in human history, of course, it was far from the record of a hundred-year war, which intermittently lasted from 1337 to 1453, but for the XX century this armed conflict, which lasted from 1927 to 1950. The great march became the universal retreat of the Communists from the territories and positions they occupied, the unification of the isolated communist detachments and their subsequent strengthening in the Special District with its capital in the city of Yan’an. Departing from the Kuomintang people who attacked them, the communist troops fought more than 12,000 kilometers through their country, crossed 12 Chinese provinces, breaking 18 mountain passes during this time and crossing 24 rivers on their way. Of the 80-thousand army that began this campaign, only about 4 thousand communists reached the final goal (Lynch192). The total number of victims of this war remains unknown, although it is obvious to everyone that the casualties were simply enormous and amounted to millions of humans died, according to historians’ estimates, about 7.5 million people could have died in this internecine conflict. At the same time, it is still possible to argue about the timing of this civil war. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) established its full control over the mainland state, the government of the Republic of China fled to Taiwan, where has retained its existence as an independent state. The active phase of the conflict lasted more than 20 years, and its consequences can be felt to this day.
The surrender of the army again caused a new wave of discontent with the treacherous policy of Chiang Kai-shek. In response to such actions, the 19th Army, withdrawn from Shanghai to the south to compete the Communists, agitated and organized a people’s government in Fujian. The army command signed the Anti-Japanese Armistice Agreement with the CPC. In addition to repulsing the Japanese, the governments program in Fujian also included demands for the abolition of unequal treaties, as well as ensuring freedom of speech of the press, assembly, and improving the situation of workers and peasants.
By the end of World War II in China, the rivalry for power between the Kuomintang (Chinese National Peoples Party) led by Chiang Kai-shek and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) headed by Mao Zedong intensified(Kalyvas99). Attempts to create a coalition government at the end of 1945 were unsuccessful. Full-Scale civil war broke out in China between the CCP and the Kuomintang. The outcome of this confrontation was influenced by the USSR and the USA. The civil war was the longest march of military forces in the history of wars, the so-called Great March, was made. It was a legendary campaign of the Chinese Communist army, which lasted from October 1934 to October 1936.
