The purpose of this class is to expose you to the many available art forms and give you ideas on how to use them to teach children. In order to do that, you will need to do research. You will read articles, the text and use your own experiences. After all the readings, research and teaching you have done, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation that thoroughly covers the art form assigned.

I expect a minimum of 5 slides dealing with this question. (Title slide and works cited slide do not count toward the minimum of 5.)

-Next– Explain how you would integrate visual arts into your teaching.

This should include specific visual arts activities. Be specific, detailed and thorough in your subject matter and the visual arts activities you would use. Do not include drama, music, poetry or other art forms, as we will cover these later in the course. I expect a minimum of 5 slides dealing with this explanation. (Title slide and works cited slide do not count toward the minimum of 5.)

You need to have a minimum of five slides that answer the first question and a minimum of five that explain the integration for a total of at least 10 slides. If you include a “Title” slide and/or a “Works Cited” slide, they would be in addition to the minimum 10 required.
