Im working on a Sociology question and need guidance to help me study.
This week during lecture we began examining the “College for All Philosophy” and Student Loan Debt. Based on the ideas presented in the course readings and the points made during lecture and the documentary film, Default, here are two sets of questions for you to write about:
OPTION 1
What’s the point of going to college? Do you want to be here? Do you have to be here?
How does using a sociological lens (i.e. making the familiar strange & questioning what seems obvious) complicate these questions?
Your written response must be between 500-600 words. Submit finished responses to our Canvas site before 9am, Friday, April 12th.
OPTION 2
On Friday during class, you watched the documentary, Default: The Student Loan Documentary. What did you think about the documentary? How did watching it make you feel? All things considered, do you believe that taking out student loans to finance a college education is a smart financial decision? Why or why not?
Your written response must be between 500-600 words. Submit finished responses to our Canvas site before 9am, Friday, April 12th.
Choose one of those options. On your document header, please clearly indicate which prompt you are addressing (either #1 or #2).
Quote the contexts in the files I attached and make the citation.
