In my clinical setting, vascular access ports (VAPs), peripherally inserted central catheter (PICCs) and no-tunnelled central venous catheters (NT CVCs) are routinely encountered and managed by registered nurses on the ward.

Succinctly describe your search process and provide justification of the resources that you chose to search and the evidence selected. Include the abstract/s or summaries of the high level evidence to your final assignment.

Task 5
Compare and contrast the answer to your question in the high level evidence to the information contained in the policy selected from your area of practice (if no policy was obtained) the current practices in this area. Your discussion should highlight the level of evidence or strength of the recommendations and any differences that exist between the evidence based recommendations and your existing policy or practices.

Task 6
Discuss the barriers that may exist in your specific clinical setting if there was a need to change practice based on the high level recommendations and how these barriers may be overcome and/or strategies that exist to promote EBP within your practice setting.
