When nurses exceed their scope of practice, they violate their nursing license and may be performing tasks that are reserved by statute for another healthcare professional, such as a physician (Fremgen, 2012). Due to the shortage of nurses, their responsibilities are ever increasing, which may lead to actions that result in malpractice. However, nurses have not generally been involved in lawsuits for exceeding their scope of practice or violating their license, unless they also acted negligently (Fremgen, 2012).
Accordingly, by using the Internet resources, research your states nursing laws and regulations. Based on the knowledge gained from your readings, respond to the following questions with examples:
Justify your answers with appropriate research and reasoning by using examples and references from textbooks, the South University Online Library, and other acceptable references. Cite sources in the APA format. Further, comment on the postings of at least two peers.
