Machiavellian Assessment
Scores 2,5,3,3,2,2,4,4,1,1 in order of sequence
The Machiavellian self-assessment test ranks my personality at twenty-four points. This means that I belong to the same category of Machiavellianism as the average American. This is because the test says that a random sample of Americans tested scored an average of twenty-five points. I agree with this assessment of my personality. To the best of my knowledge, I would not make a good Machiavellian because I do not have some of the characteristics of Machiavellians like lividness, cunningness, and the desire to perform at whatever cost. I am a rather docile personality and do not hold the aggressive instincts of a Machiavellian.
The test shed light to some of the characteristics that I possess. For example, when answering some questions, I had to question myself on what I thought was the correct response. I had to think twice to convince myself that I was putting down the correct answer. Generally, I found myself questioning my own believes about other people’s behavior. I also thought hard about why I harbored the opinions I had of other people, whether good or bad. I questioned my ability to trust other people, my sense of honesty and justice. I also realized that I do not have an aggressive personality.

Self- Monitor Assessment
Scores 2,5,3,4,3,4,5,5,3,5,3,1,3 in order of sequence
This assessment places my character at forty-eight points. The test indicates that people who obtain a score of fifty-three points or higher are high self-monitors. Given this assessment, I would place myself at below average. This means that I am not a high-self monitor. I agree with the results totally. I am not a keen listener and I hardly monitor other people’s emotions in conversations. The amount of fun we have defines most of my friendships. However, we rarely have serious discussions about ourselves. This explains why I am not keen on other people’s emotions.
One thing that I have learnt from this test is that different people fare differently when it comes to monitoring their communication skills. Communication is a vital part of human relationships. Our self-monitoring skills contribute to the health of our friendships. It is therefore important to be sensitive to other people’s needs and feelings. Moreover, people do not always say with honesty, what they feel about different issues. Learning to listen to other people and to read their body language such as facial expressions will help one to understand other people for what they are.
Risk-Taker Assessment
Scores 5,3,5,3 in order of sequence
This test results ranked me at four points out of a possible ten. The test suggests that I am a high-risk taker. I disagree with this assessment. To the best of my knowledge, I am not a person who likes to indulge in risky behavior or make risky decisions. On the contrary, I usually take calculated risks, preferring to weigh my options before making decisions. Besides, I am slow to react to risky situations. My self-preservation instincts always prompt me to be on the lookout for risky situations. This makes me a poor risk taker, which is contrary to the results of the test.
From this test, I understand that people have different degrees of risk aversion. This makes people react differently to similar situations. A risk taker is likely to make decisions on their feet and think about their decisions later. An average risk taker will mull over a decision until a favorable solution comes to mind. On the other hand, a low risk taker will post pone making a risk until they cannot do it any longer. Their decision to take a risk is because they lack an alternative. Hence, one can understand another person’s behavior if they understand their degree of risk aversion or inclination.
Type-A personality Assessment
Scores 5,3,5,5,4,4,1 in order of sequence
I scored eighty-one points in this assessment. This ranks me as a type B personality. I agree with this assessment. This is because my behavior is less of a type A and more of a type B. For example, I prefer to enjoy my life instead of always being in a competitive streak. I also prefer to do things slowly without being rushed. I believe that there is no need of constantly stressing over things that are beyond my reach. I therefore tend to be easy-going and without worry. My friends often describe me as accessible and stress-free. This makes me a type B personality.
An insight that I got from this test is that different personalities reflect different behaviors. Type A personalities are at the extreme opposite of Type B personalities. While type A personalities tend to be unnecessarily busy all the time, type B personalities never feel rushed. Understanding the personality types of people is the key to relating with other people. In aIDition, understanding these differences would help people with different personalities cope better. At the end of the test, I appreciated the fact that I can recognize my behavior patterns.
