Get a small group together (3 people minimum) and brainstorm for 5 minutes as many ideas for a brief speech as you can. Ideas may be single words like “banana” or “battleship”. You must have at least 15 ideas. Write each idea on a small piece of paper, then group members draw 2 speech ideas each. They then choose one of the two topics, take 1 minute to gather their thoughts, then deliver a 3-4 minute speech on the topic. The listening group members should then briefly critique the speech before repeating the process with the next member.
You may do this in person, or online with your peers. (THE ABOVE CAN BE MADE UP, NO NEED TO MEET WITH ANYONE!)
Write a one paragraph (200-300 words) explanation of the event to include your topic, how you did, what you could improve, and whether or not you like doing these types of speeches.
