CHAPTER 4
ANALYTIC RESULTS
It is hard to overstate the importance of the analysis phase when implementing a new project or new programs (Kerzner, 2017; Harrison & Lock, 2017). This phase is where the project manager clarifies the essence of a project or program and ensures that there is an alignment of both internal and external factors with the overarching goal of optimizing the results. The analysis is crucial identifies the gaps in the proposed comprehensive active shooter program for the Air National Guard Cyber Operations Base in Van Nuys. In case, there are any gaps, it may be necessary to conduct additional research, which then becomes the blueprint for future initiatives. Primarily, it assists in defining a more precise program scope. This will help in decision making concerning features that might have been initially proposed but are not necessary to meet the overall project goals.
Community/ Stakeholder engagement
This analytical tool is crucial for effective project planning and implementation. It helps to identify the people affected by a project/program and assists in developing appropriate engagement strategies (Higgs et al., 2018).
Stakeholder engagement (including involvement with the community) is intended to help in the following:
xxEvaluation
Evaluation is useful in assessing the existing active shooter efforts for the Air National Guard Cyber Operations Base in Van Nuys, California. This is important in determining the vulnerabilities, cost-benefit analysis, and also discovering the current training needs within the organization. In other words, this tool will be used to provide a snapshot of the status of preparedness, which is crucial for addressing gaps, identifying priorities, and assessing progress. Already, there is a wide range of tools designed to evaluate emergency planning programs such as that of the Air National Guard Cyber Operations Base in Van Nuys, California. For this project, self-administered tools are the most fitting because of their flexibility – this is important because of the multiple stakeholders involved (Reese et al., 2019)
Training
In reality, there is no such thing as training and development analytics; instead, the idea here is to analyze training and development programs to learn and to identify opportunities. Essentially, training analysis helps in forward -mapping for the project. As discussed earlier, it is essential to critical to identify the benefits of the proposed comprehensive active shooter program and to put that in quantifiable terms. Training and development is a costly affair, and therefore developing and providing training programs would help the Air National Guard Cyber Operations Base understand the expected ROI. Offering training and development also helps in stakeholder evaluation (specifically employees’ evaluation) and can be used to identify curriculum tools for future endeavors (Rana, Ardichvili & Polesello, 2016).
Feasibility study
A feasibility study aims to analyze a project/program and determine its overall viability. It includes controlled analyses aimed at assessing the benefits of a program, learning objectives, defining the meaning of success, and assisting decision-makers. The feasibility analysis reveals whether or not the proposed plan is feasible/ justifiable in various contexts, including; technical, legal, and economic Feasibility studies that can be done either qualitatively or quantitatively (Brannen, 2017). xx
