Write a draft of the participant’s portion of your paper (the first subsection of the Method section). In doing this, consider: Who is your target population? That is, to whom do you want your results to generalize? How might you be able to access a sample or portion of this population?  What sampling technique would allow you to access this sample?  How many participants will you need to get a good understanding of the population?  What characteristics of the population do you expect to see in your sample? Think about what demographics the sample should contain to represent the population, and what you are likely to obtain using the sampling technique and participants you have described. What percent is male? What racial or ethnic distribution are you likely to have? What about participant age (mean and/or range)?
